Thoughts after 9 innings, Tigers, Yankees, Game 3 ALDS

Note: Will have my column on this game posted at theoaklandpress.com in the next 90 minutes or so.

- Jose Valverde certainly has a flair for drama. Didn't make sense walking Brett Gardner in that situation at all. Got away with it. In fact, he struck out Derek Jeter on four pitches. The previous pitch should have been a called a strike.

- Home plate umpiring was brutal tonight. Call strikes strikes. All anybody asks. The ump: Gerry Davis.

- It's got to be a comforting thought for Tiger fans the Game 4 starter for the Yankees is A.J. Burnett.

_ Doesn't get any better this, does it? Terrific ball game.

Does'nt get any better. JV striking out the side on 10 pitches. The stinkin Yanks are going to lose to a Central div. winner whom the have nothing but contempt for. I'm enjoying the ride.

Cant think of a better time for motorcity sports. My favorite team is about to take down the evil empire.

Pat, The key Tues. night is how Porcello does with the Yankee left-handed hitters. Granderson, Teixera, Posoda, and Cano. It won't be easy. I hope the Tigers score a boatload!

Porcello's last outing was strong.
Burnett's got the edge in experience.
This is going to be a wild ride. Tigers HAVE to seal this deal here at home - IMHO.
ain't it great?!!!
