Not trying to rain on anybody's parade, but I don't think the Lions will win Sunday

Tampa Bay was 10-6 last season, the Lions 6-10. I know the Lions won a road game at Tampa, but it was close and a couple calls went Detroit's way late in the game.
I didn't get a sense in that game, that if the Lions were to play the Bucs again in Tampa, they would automatically win.
In fact, I do expect the Bucs to beat the Lions. They have a good team with a quarterback, Josh Freeman, who is only improving. That it is on the road this early in the season is a huge factor. Humidity figures to be very high. The forecast is for 90 degrees and probable thunderstorms Sunday. Tampa has a big back, LaGarrette Blount, who could give them a huge edge in this game.
I also predict this: A huge overreaction if the Lions lose the game, and a big overreaction if they win it.
There will be no in-between come Sunday night.
Even though I don't think the Lions will win this game, I do believe it will be close, and I still think they will go 10-6 this season - regardless the outcome.

I think your 100% wrong on this one Pat.. You point out that the Lions barely beat TB last yr but leave out the fact that the Lions did it with there 3rd string QB,RB and CB's that they picked up off the street.. Taking that into consideration and the fact that the Lions did more to improve there team in the off-season then the Bucs did. I just can't see how anybody in there right mind would think the Bucs are going to win this game..

Good objective call, Pat. Have the same feeling.

But disagree with over-reaction if they win. A win means this team might be a good one. The key is a good defensive strategy by Cunningham and a solid d. rush. And maybe 60 yds rushing.

10-6 record with a first-game loss is a stretch. 0.38-0.42 probability.

Tampa is a solid team and I agree they will probably beat the Lions Sunday. I predict the Lions will be 8-8 or one game within .500 either way. I think that is ok, I expect the Lions to explode next year not this year. They need one more good draft then they will be in Double-digit wins for the next 5-6 years if the QB situation is stable.

You could be right about this,I can tell you one thing,we will know by the 1rst 2 series who will win or lose,The Lions still have proved nothing,if DETROIT plays crappy in the 1rst 2 series ,odds are they may lose ,but they have enough firepower to come back against any team,is tampa bays pass rush good enough to take the LIONS qb out of the game,if so that will put DETROITS defense on the field the entire game, checkmate win tampa,But if detroit does this to tampa and the LIONS do the same same outcome detroit,THEY BOTH HAVE ALOT OF TALENT,IN A GAME SUCH AS THIS COACHING COMES INTO PLAY, WHO WILL OUCOACH WHO ,MY PICK DETROIT BY 3
