This one was a stinker, but worse than anything, it makes for another disappointing loss on Thanksgiving on a game the Lions should have won.
So Pat, I’m very interested in your opinion - What do the Lions do with Schwartz? Clearly we have been suffering through his learning period and he could someday be a good coach. Right now, he remains as undisciplined as many of his players have been during the recent off season. The red flag throw was such an immature move, you would have thought he was a guy at home jumping off his couch, spilling his nachos and yelling at the TV. The best coaches in the league, keep their cool, call over the officials and calmly discuss their options before acting. The only reason the act that quickly was to act like a crazed fan instead of a fearless leader.
Matt Stafford said the best thing last week – the difference between winning and losing so many of these last few Lions games is a few plays. The reason these plays don’t go our way is purely due to the lack of professionalism in the entire organization. That requires a better leader who knows how to act.
I’m of the opinion that we need to move on. It doesn’t appear that Jim will mature fast enough to be the leader we need. What do you think?
Swartz is a good coach, he just got caught up in a passionate mistake.
What concerns me more is how this Lions team is really undisciplined. As a coach or coaches, that is something that should be fixed, and fast a year ago.
Shu is a concern. He's in some trouble now. This won't be just a fine. Why hasn't he learned and matured? Where's a leader that can talk to him and hard? Shu, you're not a bully playing in the back yard with your friends at 13 yrs old.
