Thoughts after 7 innings, Game 4, ALDS, Tigers, Yankees
- Rafael Soriano has closer "stuff." While the Yankees haven't been able to buy themselves a great starting rotation, they do have an excellent bullpen.
- Wilson Betemit is not getting good swings tonight.
- If this holds, this game will be billed as Curtis Granderson's revenge.
Granderson clearly is player of the game . His leaping catch in the 1st inning on Don Kelley's shot, and his other catch saved 4 runs. "a game of inches" Dave
Too bad you didn't stay awake until the 8th inning. That's when the Yanks got their confidence back. Granderson doesn't feel any need for revenge. He's making more money playing for a better team in a huge market, with a better organization. Meanwhile the Tigers got stuck with Austin Jackson. Compared their stats lately?
Might as well throw Betemit strikes. Why do you think the Tigers got him for a cup of coffee? Because the only 3rd baseman he can hit better than is Brandon Inge.

Revenge for what? Trading him to a perennial contender? Remind me why we needed to get rid of this guy.

Why would anyone ever throw Wilson Betemit a strike?
