Issues for Detroit Tigers are deeper than Jose Valverde

My column:
Jose Valverde: How much longer will he be a Tiger?

The Tigers are an interesting team this year. Their run differential (runs scored per game minus runs against) is a very good at +87. But they bomb teams and then score 2 runs the next.

The telling sign is that they don't seem to do well against good teams. Bye, bye playoffs and World Series. They beat the 0.500 teams and under that is good but not sufficient.

The only good teams they have beaten is the Yankees and Braves.

This team does not seem to rise to the occasion. There are flaws that we all know.
