Pat, the only upgrade would be at ss but I don't think there is any ss available that would make the Tigers better. Tigers face right handed starters 2/3 of the time so Peralta is like having another left handed bat in the line-up. I like Dirks in LF because he can play LF and his left handed bat helps balance the line-up. At least the Tigers are defensively better at 2B , LF and RF then last year. Having six starters is not a bad idea because three of the current starters ended up on the DL last year and there is a significant drop off in pitching in the organization after Procello and Smyly.
it's going to be interesting to see what roles (if any) Boesch, Smyly and Rondon will have on this 2013 Tigers team. it seems like the roster is ripe for a significant trade, but the next impact move might not occur until the season is well underway
