Pat, I am still sore about the Tigers losing the 87 playoff to the lowly Twins. But they seem to be doing something right. The amazing thing about the Twins is they either draft really well or their player development is off the charts. Over eighty percent of their roster came up through their farm system. They also love left handed bats. Our lefties in the bullpen want to be well rested for the Twins series.
Love the column. I'm just a man, but I do hate the Twins... and the White Sox, for that matter. I can't stand either of those teams. Game 163 was heartbreaking. My dad compared it to the ALCS in 1987, actually, which is when he began to hate the Twinkies. I want retribution.
Travis, Seems like you are in the minority. When I hear about the Twins, it's always "They do such a great job for a small market team..." They don't look so small market anymore. Caputo

Barry,
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how the Twins tend to just wear out Tigers pitching with a single here, a double there. They nickel and dime them to death.
