However, I they have not fixed what I believe their biggest problem was from last year and that is depth. I think if they get an injury or two with this lineup they will be in trouble because their depth are stop gap type players. Every year in the post season it seems like the hero is not the star player Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29764383.post-71359090374034421102010-12-17T21:10:49.031-05:002010-12-17T21:10:49.031-05:00It's a flip of the coin really - but I think t...It's a flip of the coin really - but I think the odds are better with Ordonez.

And in the AL Central 87 games might be enough. The Tigers were hot until they lost Mags last season.

But I certainly agree $10M is a lot. Otherwise Martinez was just replacing Magglio and we basically had the same offense as last year (likely minus Boesch's hot start as well).

I don't think two 5 million options in the outfield would've been near as worth it. We have numerous solid options (Raburn, Boesch, Wells), what we didn't have was a proven guy that you could trustMichael Cnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29764383.post-64676695486912483252010-12-16T19:11:53.513-05:002010-12-16T19:11:53.513-05:00Pat,

Cabrera's presence ...He'll hit for average. Cabrera's presence means he'll see pitches. If Jackson gets on base more, which he should, some of the resulting fastballs are gonna get launched into the seats. This is a good signing. Magglio just fits here. Chemistry is important, too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29764383.post-21061058691067254922010-12-16T16:12:25.847-05:002010-12-16T16:12:25.847-05:00Pat, Tigers needed a right-handed bat and Maggs fi...Pat, Tigers needed a right-handed bat and Maggs fits the description.
Hopefully he will DH when VMart is catching. Tigers should be happy with a one year contract. With the Tigers bullpen they will get 9 cracks or innings at winning the game. I wonder who the 25th man will be Boesch or Kelly or Thomas?Barryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05922015140899150083noreply@blogger.com
