But they have to do better filling holes in free agency, too.
CaputoPat Caputohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05102662407927366439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29764383.post-75374791880284934562009-12-17T11:19:30.437-05:002009-12-17T11:19:30.437-05:00Barry,

They also make big plays. Not that those other aren't as important, I don't believe WR is any less.
CaputoPat Caputohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05102662407927366439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29764383.post-24566425771248122682009-12-17T11:16:21.021-05:002009-12-17T11:16:21.021-05:00Alan,

CJ's problem is there are no threats on the Lions offense other than him. Bryant Johnson hasn't played to his contract and Derrick Williams has not played remotely like a third-round pick. All defenses just CJ - only Lions threat.
CaputoPat Caputohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05102662407927366439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29764383.post-22144036884993564642009-12-17T08:07:40.509-05:002009-12-17T08:07:40.509-05:00I agree. They need a pass rusher, and I'd rather see them trade some high picks in return for a veteran. The Lions already have enough money tied up in project players and I think they should spend for proven performance, especially on the O and D line.William G. Aren’t the Lions both near the bottom of the league when it comes to stopping the run and allowing the most sacks? Can the Lions can fix their lines in next draft or free agent? After all you want to protect your 75 million dollar arm.Barryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05922015140899150083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29764383.post-39330968232881527442009-12-16T23:29:25.612-05:002009-12-16T23:29:25.612-05:00Pat,

Even though he is a tremendous talent, count me among those who didn't want to draft him in the first place. To me, WR is not a position that effects winning as much as both lines, RB and QB. WR is a position with lots of depth and doesn't require a top 5 overall investment to find a good one. He still to me is only potential, no all-pro yet. But he's also one of their few keepers.

I also agree we shouldn't fall in love with Suh to an absurd extent. If he falls to us great. If not follow your board. He had a great game inAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
